Term 2, week 8 2025
Hello Friends
With the season of Winter upon us, please make sure that all jumpers and jackets are clearly labelled with your child’s name on them. This makes it easier to return any stray jackets or jumpers that we find around the school yard. I have already picked up several new jackets and jumpers in the yard – some labelled and some not. Also, when purchasing new shoes, please ensure they are completely black or white in colour – including the sole of the shoe. There are lots of black and white shoes in the school yard. Thanks for ensuring that our new uniform is worn correctly.
In last fortnight’s newsletter I wrote about the use of the playground and sand pit after school. I would like to say thank you to parents and caregivers for their direct active and continued supervision of their children in this area after school. This helps keep all our students safe. Please remember to ensure that any equipment that was used after school is put away in the correct spot. Thank you
Traffic at Pick up and Drop off Times
Once again, I remind parents and community members about road behaviour. Dropping students off and collecting children while stopping in the road is unsafe and places stress upon other motorists and duty staff. Please ensure you have parked your vehicle safely and appropriately before allowing students to enter/exit vehicles.
Students Toilets
I remind parents and care givers that the students’ toilets in our school are for student use only, this includes the toilet inside the library. Toilets for community members use, as well as use by siblings, are located adjacent the hall. Thanks for helping us adhere to our Child Safe Practices.
Well-Being Week
We celebrated Well Being Week here at school between 10 June and 13 June. This week was a great week with activities for students and staff that promoted positive Mental Health and Well Being. Thanks to Miss K for coordinating the week and to staff and students for embracing the activities.

Feast of the Holy Trinity
Celebrating the Mystery of God's Love
This week, we have recalled the Feast of the Holy Trinity, a central mystery of our Catholic faith. The Holy Trinity reveals God as three Persons in one divine nature: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
This feast invites us to reflect on how we live out our faith in relationship with God and one another. The love within the Trinity is the model for all Christian relationships: marked by unity, respect, and self-giving.
At school, students have been learning that the Trinity is not something to be fully understood, but to be believed and experienced especially through prayer, community, and acts of love. As we celebrate this sacred mystery, may we continue to grow in our understanding of God’s presence in our lives and reflect His love in the world.
First Holy Communion
A number of our students are currently preparing to receive the Sacrament of First Holy Communion which is a special milestone in their faith journey. We pray this sacred step fills their hearts with joy, peace, and a deep awareness of Christ’s loving presence in their lives. In our next newsletter, we look forward to sharing photos of their beautiful celebration.
St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal – Supporting Those in Need
Thank you to all the families who have already supported the St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal to assist those in our community facing hardship.
We continue to welcome contributions of warm clothing, blankets, non-perishable food items, and toiletries, which can be brought to our school office.
Your generosity is truly appreciated.

Love Lived in Action
Upon their return to Southern Cross Care, the Year 6 students shared their portrait projects that they had created for the residents. Each student lovingly created a personalised portrait of their resident, capturing their warmth, wisdom, and individuality.
Again, this was an experience that brought joy to the residents and reflected the beauty of our students in the power of kindness shared from the heart.
Jesus calls us to honour and care for others with compassion, humility, and respect, especially those who may feel forgotten or alone. In reaching out to older generations, our young people become vessels of Christ’s love, reminding us all that every life is precious and worthy of dignity.

What a jam-packed week we had celebrating Wellbeing Week!
From mindful colouring in the library to skipping, yoga and a nature scavenger hunt outdoors, our students were buzzing with energy and joy.
In classrooms, students shared thankful thoughts and kind acts on paper leaves, adding them to our beautiful Wellbeing Tree.
And to top it all off, we came together for a whole school dance in the hall.
A huge shoutout to everyone who got involved and an extra special thank you to Miss K for organising such an amazing week of activities!

As our enrolment numbers continue to grow, we kindly remind you to submit applications for siblings of current students for the upcoming years - Term 3 2026, 2027 and 2028.
To ensure a place for your child, we encourage you to enroll as soon as possible. Spaces fill quickly, and we don't want any families to miss out on securing a spot for their younger children. While sibling enrolments are prioritised, places cannot be guaranteed for late applicants.
Please contact Meri Blake, our enrolment officer for more information or to begin the application process.
Thank you for your continued support.
